Small-group tuition · Primary to exam year
Every student at Prism Notch starts with a relaxed assessment, so lessons target the exact topics holding them back — not a generic syllabus rerun.
Room for every student to ask, try and get feedback.
Maths, English and the sciences, pitched to each level.
Families see what was covered and what comes next.
Programmes
Three programmes, one principle: master the foundations first, then build confidence on top of them.
Number sense, reading fluency and clear writing, taught through short, focused tasks that make progress visible week to week.
Algebra, essay structure and scientific method, with worked examples first and independent practice straight after.
Timed past-paper practice, mark-scheme thinking and revision plans that spread the load instead of cramming it.
Short explanation, guided attempt, independent try — every lesson follows the same calm rhythm.
Our method
A simple, repeatable process so students always know why they are working on something.
A relaxed session with a tutor to see how your child thinks through problems, where confidence dips and which topics need rebuilding.
We map the gaps into a term plan and place your child in the group that matches their current level, not just their school year.
Each lesson introduces one idea, practises it together, then checks understanding before moving on.
Short written notes after each block of lessons, plus a review conversation each term to adjust the plan.
Formats
Start with one format and switch as needs change — the learning plan travels with your child.
A steady, same-time-each-week slot that builds habits alongside school.
A few concentrated mornings to consolidate one topic area before the new term.
Full tutor attention for students who need a tailored pace or a specific catch-up.
Questions
Can’t see your question? Add it to the enquiry form and we’ll answer it in our reply.
Your child works through a few short, low-pressure tasks with a tutor. It isn’t a test to pass — it simply shows us where to start. Afterwards we share what we noticed and suggest a group or format.
Groups are kept small and organised by current level and subject, so students work alongside peers tackling similar material.
Let us know in advance and we’ll share the lesson notes and practice tasks, and where possible offer a place in a parallel group that week.
Short, targeted practice designed to fit around school work. The aim is consolidation, not extra pressure.
Yes. After the assessment, your child can join a trial lesson in their suggested group before you decide.
